Ron Lewis' ministry began in 1982 by reaching out to students on the campus of his alma mater, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, a ministry which soon expanded to include the other college campuses in the Raleigh-Durham Region. Over the years, many of the students he has pastored have become pastors, missionaries, entrepreneurs, athletes, doctors, elected officials, artists, etc.
In 1990 the ministry grew to include an annual short-term missions program and a student conference called Campus Harvest and since then this multi-denominational service organization has helped equip countless churches and campus leaders. Campus Harvest exists to catalyze the local church to disciple the university campus.
The first Campus Harvest conference took place in 1991, and since then it has grown to attract 2,000 students annually from more than 300 college campuses across the United States and around the world. Its vision is to encourage, impart and equip the college and university students of this generation. In addition, Campus Harvest works diligently to serve local churches around the world, as they are strategic centers for student outreach.
